Requirements to study abroad in Taiwan

Student Visa for Taiwan Requirements

To enter Taiwan for studying, you will need to obtain a student visa. For applying for the study visa, you will require a few documents such as :

  • Completed Taiwan Student Visa Application Form
  • Two latest colour passport-size photos
  • A valid passport
  • A health certificate
  • Original and a photocopy of the admission letter in the university of Taiwan
  • Original and photocopy of highest education diploma
  • Proof of financial support during the studies in Taiwan

Study and work in Taiwan

International students can work while studying in Taiwan on the condition that they should be the holders of a work permit. Pursuing a job in Taiwan during studies without a valid work permit can be fined. The work permit in Taiwan under the statutory regulations of the Employment Services Act and Regulations with the permission of Administration of the Employment of Foreign Workers is acceptable on certain conditions. 

The international students can only work for up to 16 hours a week. The duration of the work permit will be six months. For receiving a new work permit, you can apply after the expiration of the existing work permit.
