The Master's programme "International Business & Leadership" at the Dresden School of Management is aimed at ambitious personalities who want to assume a future leading position in international companies. The concept of our Master's programme aims to develop relevant key competences and to impart essential areas of innovative personnel and corporate management.
Each semester covers the following topics:
Leadership Skills (1st semester)
In the first semester, management competencies are developed according to our innovative teaching and learning concept CORE ("Competence Oriented Research and Education") according to the needs of the market, focusing on evaluating the economic challenges of companies in the context of global trends, identifying future markets and their opportunities and developing business models including financing. In addition, the first semester focuses on understanding the importance of leadership activities in line with corporate culture, developing and applying relevant competencies.
Application of Leadership Tasks (2nd semester)
In the second semester, these leadership competencies are applied to the specific leadership tasks. The topics that are particularly challenging for managers are: the search for, development and retention of talents in Strategic Human Resource Management. To design new working models, to develop teams and their performance and also to consider cultural and ethical aspects when leading employees. The contents of the modules are applied in the development of concepts. The development of personal and social action competences is promoted in the Contracting & Negotiation module, which particularly reflects the intercultural context. Academic Paper Design & Writing develops competences in scientific methods and thus academic thinking.
Going International (3rd semester)
In the third semester, the focus is on internationality. During an internship abroad or a semester abroad you can prove your acquired skills in an intercultural context.
In-Depth-Experience (4th semester)
The last semester begins with an online research module "Analysing International Management", followed by the Master's thesis, which is ideally linked to a question from business practice.
