Career Prospects

With an education as an industrial engineer, a wide range of professional opportunities are open to you. A mixture of technical and non-technical course elements serves as the basis for conventional as well as modern fields: Marketing/Sales, Logistics, Materials Management/Purchasing, Manufacturing/Production, Controlling, Accounting, Organization, or Data Processing. For example, you will be trained to begin working with manufacturing companies, engineering companies, banks, insurance companies, consultancy companies, retail companies, or even the public sector.

Degree Content

The Business Engineering degree at FHWS combines solid, basic knowledge with practical training. The contents and structure of the available specializations enable students to quickly become familiar with numerous subjects in technology and business, as well as in cutting-edge fields of work. Specialist, methodical, and social skills are taught throughout the degree as part of the overall concept, and are applied in practice through several projects, the internship, and in the bachelor's thesis. Modern simulation and IT tools are integrated throughout the degree course. Competent guest lecturers from industry provide up-to-date insight and complement the practical relevance of the degree optimally. You have the option to complete your studies with or without specialization in the fields of technology or economics. In doing so, you can qualify yourself as either a generalist or a specialist in important areas of industrial engineering.

Degree Structure

The degree program spans seven semesters, including one practical semester, and results in graduation with a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree. It is also an option to spend one semester and/or to write the bachelor's thesis abroad.
