The exact duration of the process depends on which country you apply to. The long-term visa for study shall be processed within 60 days from the date the Consulate receives and records the complete application. In general, we recommend applying for your student visa three to four months before the start of your program.
The Czech Republic's government provides several scholarships for public universities as part of international assistance programs. Government scholarships are available for both Czech and English language programs. In addition, universities provide scholarships to international students. To study in the Czech Republic, students can receive either merit-based or need-based scholarships.
Students who are enrolled in a university for higher education can work part-time jobs. Students are also permitted to work full-time during the summer vacation. Part-time employment is limited to 20 hours per week. Part-time work should not interfere with studies in any way. These jobs assist students in meeting their living expenses and tuition fees at universities.
In the Czech Republic, there are nearly 70 higher education institutions. According to the QS World Rankings 2023, 16 of them are among the top universities in the world. Charles University, the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague, and the Czech Technical University in Prague are the top universities in the Czech Republic. They are all in the top 500.
Students who graduate from a university are eligible for a work permit in the Czech Republic. Non-EU students, on the other hand, are advised to look for a permanent job in the Czech Republic before their university program ends. Following the Bachelor's Degree, the student can apply for a higher level of study, such as a Master's Program. Students must demonstrate that they have secure permanent employment that is best suited to their qualifications and job location.
Universities in the Czech Republic are offering English language courses in order to attract more international students. In 45 universities, more than 100 courses are taught in English. Because the country has a large number of English speakers, it is easier for international students to come here.
It is possible to study in the Czech Republic without taking IELTS tests. You can sit for the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) or take the English language placement tests offered by universities. Some universities also offer Intensive English Language programs that students can enroll in prior to the start of the program to achieve the required level of proficiency.
