New technologies influence and alter behaviors and ways of life, save resources and multiply our potentials. Electrical engineering and information technologies are the key to it all.

    The Master’s study program Electrical Engineering and Information Technology offers eight specializations to choose from: electrical energy systems, automation and control technology, intelligent information processing, communication systems, high frequency technology, intelligent sensors, nano- and optoelectronics, electronic power technologies and systems.

    Your studies will be strongly research-oriented as well as provide chances for hands-on experimentation in the laboratory. You will also have the opportunity to do part of your studies or research work abroad

  • With a degree in electrical engineering and information technology, a large number of doors are open to you. Whether researching new problem solutions, developing innovative products, product planning and quality assurance, sales and user support, management consulting, teaching at university level or working as a patent attorney - our graduates can be employed in practically all branches of industry, services and public service . The career prospects are excellent, as currently and in the foreseeable future not even the basic need for electrical engineers can be met.

  • What options do I have in general?

University of Stuttgart is a well-known non-profit public university with the vision of 'intelligent systems for a sustainable society'. This 191-year-old higher education institution has a selective admission policy based on  and students' past academic grades, and has an acceptance rate of 71%. The institute currently has over 24,000 students and 21% of them are international learners. In the financial year 2019, the University of Stuttgart's total budget was 536,055,000 EUR.   • A minimum of 6.0 GPA is required in undergraduate programs to pursue a postgraduate degree at the University of Stuttgart.
  • The enrollment deadline is included in the letter of admission which you students find in their personal account in C@MPUS.
  • Applicant must have proof of English proficiency and learning German is necessary.
  • University offers more than 190 scholarships annually for its students.
  • Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the admission deadlines for UG courses have been postponed whereas that of Graduate courses remains the same. The Winter 2020/21 semester is following an exclusive digital teaching format.
