    Who is the course aimed at?

    The master's degree in "Materials Science and Technology" is aimed at students who are striving for in-depth engineering education, who have a keen interest in material science issues and who are striving for a responsible position in companies, research institutes or universities.

    Engineers of the future

    In personal contact with their lecturers and in small teams, the students are introduced to current issues from engineering and materials science and are familiarized with future-oriented approaches. You will acquire specialist knowledge in the following areas in particular: process engineering and materials technology, electrical engineering materials, material properties as well as simulation and analysis. A material science specialization takes place through the occupation of three of the offered focus areas lightweight materials, materials for energy technology, high temperature materials, metals and polymers. With this option and other compulsory electives, students can design their master’s degree individually.

    Career prospects

    Due to their research-oriented and industry-related training, the graduates are excellently qualified for demanding jobs in companies, research institutes and universities. Typical fields of application are product and process development, research and development-related sales. The master’s degree in "Materials Science and Technology" forms a solid basis for advancing to interesting management positions.

  • A college degree or bachelor's degree in materials science at the University of Bayreuth or an equivalent degree

    Proof of an industrial  of at least thirteen weeks, which must be proven within one year of enrollment, details of the content and evidence of the industrial  regulated by the   the Faculty of Engineering

    It is possible to apply before completing the previous bachelor's degree. For this, coursework must be available totaling at least 150 credit points
