TOEFL Exam Eligibility

The TOEFL exam is taken by those who want to study abroad in an English-language-speaking country. The exciting part is that there are no eligibility criteria. Anybody could appear for the TOEFL exam.  Also, there is no age limit for taking the TOEFL test!  But in order to attempt the exam, you need to bring a valid, acceptable identification (ID) to the test center at the time of the exam.

 

The TOEFL test is conducted around 50 times per year at authorized test centers worldwide. You can retake the test as many times as you wish, but remember that there should be a gap of 12 days between two attempts.

TOEFL Registration

You can register for the TOEFL exam at any time and day of the week. You need to pay close attention while filling in your details in the application form. Make sure to match the spelling and details you mention while registering for the exam precisely with the identification that you bring to the exam center. For TOEFL registration, you need to follow the steps given below:

  1. You need to visit the  “” Page. Select the option “Create new account” option.
  2. Fill in all the details, such as your full name, username, email ID, and password, and create your account.
  3. Log in with the username and password you created.
  4. Click on “Register for a test.”
  5. Select the test you want to take.
  6. In the Search bar of “Find a test location and date,” Add the city details and get the result. From the options, select your location, date, and time.
  7. You will be redirected to the “ID & Personal Information” page. Select the ID you prefer and mention all your details as asked, such as your date of birth, gender, address, etc, and click on “continue”.
  8. You will be redirected to “Search Service” next. Select the service you require and then click on the option “ Continue.”
  9. Next, you will come across the “Background Information” page on your screen. Fill in the information about your background as asked. And again click on “continue:”
  10. You will find the “Score Recipients” page and add the details as you prefer.
  11. Next, you can see the “Review Registration” page. Check all your information tick on the check box below, and click on the option - “add to cart.”
  12. On the next page, click on the cart option and make the payment.

Keep in mind that registration for the TOEFL exam closes 7 days before the test date. But if there is an emergency, you can still register for the exam with a late fee of $40 up until 4 days before the exam.

TOEFL Exam Pattern

The TOEFL exam comprises 4 sections, Reading section, a Listening section, a Speaking section, and Writing section. Here are the details of each section with the no. of questions and time limit:

What is the TOEFL score validity?

The validity of TOEFL iBT exam results is two years from the date of the exam. This means that, at the time of application, institutions will often accept TOEFL scores that are only up to two years old.
