You can register for GRE online. While registering for the GRE, the candidate needs to submit any valid Identification proof for the name used in the account. For the paper-based GRE exam, the total time duration given for completing the exam is three hours and thirty minutes (3 hours 30 minutes) and for the computer-based test, it is three hours and forty minutes (3 hours 40 minutes) plus short breaks. However, do remember that this estimation does not include the time you will need for commuting or checking into the testing centre.
The GRE test has been designed in such a way that it evaluates the skills or ability that one has already learnt over the years. These skills are not connected to any specific field of study but are important for all. These skills are related to Analytical Writing, Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning. GRE scores have the validity of five years following your test date. For example, scores for a test taken on August 3, 2018, are valid till August 2, 2023. It takes around 5 working days to process your requests to send the scores of GRE. If you are planning to send your scores to the institutions and the expiry date is approaching, ensure to allow enough time for processing or else your scores will not be sent. The GRE covers only the basic math of the high school to evaluate the skills of quantitative reasoning. The test material measures your ability to understand basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis to reason quantitatively and to solve word problems in a quantitative setting. If you have already registered to take the GRE General Test and now want to reschedule it then you must be, you must change or cancel your test registration within the four days before your test date otherwise your test fee will be forfeited. If you want to reschedule your test date, you will have to pay a rescheduling fee which is of US$50. If you want to cancel your test within the available time period of 4 days before the test, you will receive a refund equivalent to half of your original exam fee. Know more about it: GRE exam Date
You can appear for the GRE again after the 21 days of the previous test and you are allowed to take up to five times within any continuous 12-month period or 365 days. This will be applicable even if you cancel your previously taken GRE scores. You will get full information here: GRE exam

In the GRE General Test, you will be provided with an on-screen calculator. You can use the Quantitative Reasoning section to reduce the emphasis on computation and to concentrate on more attention on reasoning skills. The GRE general test evaluates your analytical writing, verbal, math, critical thinking skills all together that have been developed over a long period of time and are not related to any of the specific fields of study but includes everything.
